More about us:

Formed via a merger in 2020, Moore Barlow is a leading law firm with an aim to be the best law firm to work for regionally. We are a career firm, providing access to high-quality work, long-term career opportunities and an environment built on the premise of being “human first” in everything we do. Put simply, we care as much about your career as you do.

We are featured in The Times’ Best Law Firms 2026 list, and consistently achieve recognition for the quality of our services in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, including specific recognition for our work in Residential Property.

We are now 450 people, including 280 lawyers and 58 Partners, with offices across the South-East and London.

More about the Residential Property Team

Led by Michelle Moore-Saxton (Partner), our Richmond-based team is part of our wider Residential Property Team, and is well-known for providing legal advice on a wide variety of residential property transactions, particularly for high-net-worth clients based locally and across South-West London.

Our team pride themselves on their client-centric approach; they recognise the importance of fully understanding a client’s objectives and ensuring they receive an efficient, pragmatic, and dedicated service regardless of the complexity of their matter. This approach has given the team an excellent reputation in the market, which is demonstrated by repeat and returning clients, as well as a strong pipeline of client referrals.

Day to Day:

As a Paralegal in the team, you will work on a wide variety of matters, supporting numerous lawyers in the team whilst managing your own caseload under the supervision and leadership of one of our highly-experienced seniors.

You will:

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues of all seniorities in the team, working towards achieving the best possible and efficient outcomes for our clients.
  • Have the opportunity to run your own caseload of files appropriate for your level experience, including sales, transfers of equity, licences to assign, deeds of covenant, and remortgages.
  • Attend client meetings, undertake research, and draft documentation relevant to a matter.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks, including billing processes, Land Registry applications, submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns, dealing with the Lender Portals (Lender Exchange/LMS) and other tasks as necessary.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Paralegal ready to take the next step and work on high-value, complex matters, or for a Legal Secretary/Assistant eager to expand their role, take ownership, and manage their own caseload.

What we look for:

  • At least one years’ worth of experience working as part of a Residential Property Team as a Paralegal, Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant or similar.
  • While Residential Property experience would be ideal, we are also interested in hearing from those with other types of property-related experience, such as Commercial Property, Plot Sales, New Homes purchases etc.
  • You will be calm under pressure, adopt a naturally proactive approach to your work, have good time management skills and be able to prioritise tasks,  with  the ability to provide support to colleagues across the team.
  • You will be naturally caring, empathetic, and confident in engaging with a wide range of clients and colleagues.
  • You will be confident in building relationships within and outside of your immediate team and working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for your clients.
  • We are human-first in everything we do and seek people who share this trait. You will therefore have great communication skills, a passion for helping clients achieve their goals and the ability to think creatively.
  • Familiarity with time recording, excellent IT skills using various online systems, and managing a small fee target would be ideal.

If you have the required skills and experience and are keen to advance your career as part of our Residential Property Team, then we strongly encourage you to apply.
