Moore Barlow is currently seeking a Senior Associate to join our Dispute Resolution Team based in Guildford.

Led by David Foster (Partner), our specialist Dispute Resolution Team is consistently recognised in both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners as a market leader in handling a broad range of business and civil disputes. Our expertise covers commercial disputes, debt recovery, financial services litigation, and professional negligence, among others.

We appreciate that disputes can be both stressful and disruptive—whether they involve business interests or personal matters. That’s why our team is committed to guiding clients through every stage of the process with clear advice, collaborative support, and a sensitive approach.

Our focus is always on securing the best possible outcome for our clients. Wherever appropriate, this means adopting a constructive, non-confrontational strategy aimed at resolving matters efficiently and avoiding the need for court proceedings.

 

Day to day:

The team in Guildford is comprised of one Partner, a Legal Director, two Senior Associates, an Associate, a Solicitor, and multiple Paralegals and other legal support professionals; the broader team spans a number of our other office locations.

As a Senior Associate you will manage your own caseload of high-value and complex contractual and shareholder disputes, whilst assisting the more senior fee-earners in the team and playing a vital role in the supervision and continued growth of the team in Guildford. We promote a healthy work life balance which allows our staff to manage their various responsibilities that is sustainable for the long term which in turn leads to better outcomes for our clients.

 

What we look for:

  • A qualified Solicitor with strong prior experience of dealing with a wide range of disputes, with a particular focus on contractual and shareholder disputes.

 

  • Individuals with experience dealing with construction disputes are especially encouraged to apply.

 

  • We do not tend to use PQE as the sole measure of experience, but we estimate this position would suit somebody with at least 8 years PQE.

 

  • We would also be open to receiving applications from those with less experience who may be currently at the Associate level, but seeking a position that will offer real progression towards Senior Associate.

 

  • You will have experience and an interest in supporting with the supervision, mentoring, and professional development of less-experienced colleagues.

  • Whilst this position is offered full-time, we offer a split of working from home and in the office, we are a flexible team and are open to considering alternative working patterns.
